	D Squadron, 22 SAS Regiment.</P>
	<P>The scenario starts with D squadron on the island and about 45 minutes 
	march from their RV.</P>
	<P> Victory conditions:Destroy fifteen enemy units (preferably aircraft) and 
	return 10 friendly units to objective Victory no later than 0530hrs.</FONT></FONT></B></P>

   Orders for the raid on Pebble Island<BR>
   <P>
   1. GROUND:</P>
  <UL>
			Pebble Island lies to the north of West Falkland and is approximately 20 
			miles long from east to west and at its narrowest point is barley 100 
			metres wide. There are two principal features on the island. Marble Mount
			at 237 feet is at the eastern tip of the island and First mountain at 227 
			feet over looks the Pebble Island settlement.</P>
			<P>
			The terrain is principally low, especially to the east were there are 
			several large ponds and some lakes. The settlement has a civilian 
			population of about 25. A track runs from the settlement west to a 
			building on the southern slope of Marble Mount.</P>
			<P>
			There is a jetty located on the southern shore and is thought to be 
			capable of handling the Falkland Islands Company coasters. East of the 
			settlement is a 650 foot grass air strip. Operational status of the air 
			strip is dependent on the weather.</P>
			</UL>
	<P>	
	2.	SITUATION</P>
	<P>
    A. ENEMY FORCES:</P>
		<UL>
		<P>
	     1. Argentine forces are at platoon strength. They have a 7.62mm FN Mag MG
			 in support and an engineer unit of section strength attached. There are 
			 also a number of air force ground personnel present.</P>
    </UL>
   <P>
    B. FRIENDLY FORCES:</P>
   <UL>
    <P>
     1. D Squadron, 22 SAS with NFGO 5 attached.</P>
    </UL>
   <P>
    C. WEATHER:</P>
   <UL>
    <P>
     1. Winds are expected to be out of the northwest at approximately 10 
     miles per hour</P>
    <P>
     2. The hours of daylight are as follows. Before morning nautical 
     twilight (BMNT) will begin at 0615. Sunrise will be at 0715. Sunset 
     will be at 1715. Early evening nautical twilight (EENT) will end at 
     1815. Moonrise on the evening of 14May82 is at 1915. Illumination 
     will be at 50%. Moonset is at 0430.</P>
    </UL>
   <P>
   2. MISSION. To destroy the Argentine aircraft on Pebble Island.</P>
  <P>
   3. EXECUTION:</P>
  <UL>
   <P>
   A. COMMANDER'S INTENT.</P>
   <P>
     1. It is my intent that the Argentine air threat from Pebble Island is 
		 removed. Care must be taken to alert the local civil population in the 
		 settlement. This is to be the classic special forces raid. go in fast and 
		 hard.</P>
   <P>
	 B. CONCEPT OF THE OPERATION.</P>
   <P>
     1. This operation will be conducted in 4 phases. Phase One , 
		 reconnaissance of Pebble Island Settlement and Airfield. This task will be
		 undertaken by Boat Troop of D Squadron, 22 SAS. Phase Two will be the 
		 insertion of D Squadron, 22 SAS onto Pebble Island. Phase Three will be the
		 operation to remove the air threat and phase Four will be the extraction of
		 troops back to the task force.</P>
	  
		a. Phase one.

    b. Phase Two. D Squadron will insert from the Carrier Task Group. Four
		Sea Kings from Naval Air Squadron 846 will lift D Sqdr to an LZ prepared by
		Boat Troop in Phillips Cove. ETA Phillip Cove will be 150045May82. <FONT FACE="Arial,Helvetica,Monaco"><FONT COLOR="OLIVE"><B>Completed</B></FONT></FONT></P>
    
    <P>
    c. Phase Three. D Sqdr will move from its LZ to an RV north east of the 
		airfield. A mortar base plate position is be identified. Boat Tp to act as 
		guides for the rest of the Sqdr and lead them into the mortar base plate 
		position and the RV. Troops to be in RV by 0215hrs. 0215hrs attack airfield
		from the north down the axis of the runway by Air and Mountain Tps. 
		Mobility Tp to cover the settlement. Maximum damage is to be inflicted on 
		all aircraft dispersed around the airfield. 0245hrs all troops return to RV.

    <P>
    d. Phase Four. From RV all troops to return to LZ. All troops to be ready to 
		lift off from LZ no later than 0530hrs.</P>
    </UL>
   <P>
   4. SERVICE SUPPORT. As per SOPs.</P>
  <P>
   5. COMMAND AND SIGNAL.</P>

    A. Succession of command is as per SOP</P>

    B. Call signs and frequencies to be briefed prior to cross decking.</P>
