A British battle group against a Soviet-style enemy on Salisbury Plain. The best place to start.
A battle group is the British Army term for a battalion-sized formation that combines armour, infantry, artillery and supporting arms into one combined arms team. Battle Group Commander: Episode One puts one under your command.
Four scenarios pit that battle group against a Soviet-style opponent across the Salisbury Plain Training Area, built from real terrain data down to a few metres of resolution. You command an armoured reconnaissance squadron of the Blues and Royals in one mission and hold ground against a determined advance in another, with the same detailed unit database and command model that drives the larger titles.
It runs on the Air Assault Task Force engine, so it is the full ProSIM simulation underneath — deliberately packaged small and inexpensive. If you want to find out whether this style of command suits you, this is the one to buy first.
“Combining high fidelity gameplay with an attractive price point.”
