TSATC / Released October 2005
The Arab-Israeli wars, from 1956 through the Yom Kippur War, plus two hypothetical modern battles.
On 6 October 1973 Israel was attacked simultaneously in the Sinai and on the Golan Heights. In the Golan fewer than two hundred Israeli tanks faced roughly fourteen hundred. Along the Suez the numbers were worse still.
The Star and the Crescent lets you refight the key battles of that war, and of the wars that led to it. Fifteen scenarios cover the October War alongside actions from 1956, 1967 and January 1973, and add two hypothetical battles set in 2009. Massed armour, close air support and the air defence systems built to deny it are all modelled in detail.
Developed by ProSIM Company with PanClan Game Design on an enhanced version of the ATF engine, it is the most heavily armoured fight in the catalogue — tank warfare at the scale it was actually fought.
